Commercial Terms & Conditions (Paint Right – Glasgow)

These Terms & Conditions apply to all commercial painting and decorating contracts undertaken by Paint Right (“the Contractor”) for business clients, including but not limited to offices, retail units, landlords, property managers, and commercial premises in Glasgow and surrounding areas.

1. Agreement

All works will be carried out in accordance with a written quotation and/or contract agreed between Paint Right and the client (“the Client”). Work will only commence once acceptance of the quotation and these terms has been confirmed.

2. Deposits & Materials

A non-refundable deposit is required to secure the booking and schedule works.

• The deposit amount will be confirmed in the quotation.

• The deposit may include or contribute towards the cost of materials.

• No materials will be ordered until the deposit has been received in full.

3. Payment Structure (Stage Payments)

For larger commercial projects, payments will be made in staged instalments based on the percentage completion of the works.

Typical structure:

• Deposit: Payable upon acceptance of quotation

• Stage Payments: Issued at agreed milestones based on progress (e.g. preparation, first coat, finishing stages)

• Final Payment: Due upon practical completion and handover

Each stage payment will be calculated as an agreed percentage of the total contract value. Invoices will be issued at each stage and are payable as per agreed terms.

4. Payment Terms

Unless otherwise agreed in writing:

• Invoices are payable within 7 days of issue

• Late payments may result in work being paused until payment is received

• The Contractor reserves the right to charge statutory interest on overdue payments in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998

5. Variations & Additional Works

Any additional works or variations requested by the Client must be agreed in writing. These will be charged separately and may affect the overall project cost and timeline.

6. Access & Working Conditions

The Client must provide reasonable access to the site for the duration of the works. Delays caused by restricted access or site conditions may result in revised schedules and additional charges.

7. Programme & Completion

All timescales provided are estimates unless expressly stated otherwise. The Contractor will use reasonable efforts to complete works within agreed timeframes, subject to site conditions and Client cooperation.

8. Liability & Insurance

Paint Right holds appropriate public liability insurance. We are not liable for pre-existing defects, structural issues, or damage arising from unsuitable surfaces unless caused by our workmanship.

9. Retention of Title

All materials supplied remain the property of Paint Right until full payment has been received.

10. Cancellation

Cancellation of a confirmed commercial booking may result in loss of deposit and recovery of costs incurred for materials, labour scheduling, and time allocated.

11. Acceptance

By accepting a quotation and/or allowing work to commence, the Client agrees to these Terms & Conditions in full.
